I love the New Year for all of the new energy it brings into my life and the opportunity for a fresh slate. Not to mention this girl loves a good New Years Resolution. But this year, I decided to change up how I make my goals. There’s something completely unintuitive about choosing what you’re going to do for the full year in the middle of the winter, which is probably why so many of us fail at these goals. So I spent January 1st brainstorming everything I’d like to accomplish in 2025 instead of making hard and fast decisions. This list became a jumping off point and I’ve spent the past 3 months musing on the tasks I chose and deciding if they’re a good fit for my year. And surprise! A number of those choices have changed. If I had decided hard and fast on my resolutions, I already would have failed.
Spring is the true time of rebirth and renewal in the cycle of our year. So while I spent my New Years reflecting on 2024 and musing on what I want for 2025, I decided no true decisions would be made until the Spring Equinox on March 20th. That way I can be more confident in my decisions and actually hit the ground running to accomplish them.
I also decided the format of my goals needed a refresh! Instead of just having one big goal for the year, I decided to gamify my experience and create a Bingo board! I was inspired by the creative and talented Kyndra of Kyn You Believe It and I loved watching her experience crossing off goals throughout last year.
The reality is that we put too much pressure on ourselves to pick the perfect goal and spend the whole year becoming this perfect person. When did New Year’s resolutions become another way to beat ourselves up?? There’s no reason your goal for the new year can’t be to eat 5 new types of cheeses. Or to find the perfect pink dress. Or go to 10 live shows throughout the year. The only limit is your imagination! I find it way more enjoyable to have some funny little goals to fill out my year and see all that I can accomplish!
So without further ado, below is my 2025 bingo board! I’ve already crossed off a task and have progress on others which is pretty cool (I technically crossed off the wicked task 4 times lol). I look forward to sharing my progress and seeing all that I can do in 2025!
What would be on your 2025 bingo board?? I’d love to hear!
